Biography

Professor Hussain graduated from Dow Medical College in 1994 and completed his oncology training in Birmingham, UK, earning a Doctorate in Oncology from the University of Birmingham. He is Professor and Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
His research focuses on urological cancers, clinical trials, and translational medicine with landmark work in bladder cancer organ preservation through the BC2001 trial (NEJM, 2012), which changed global clinical practice. Professor Hussain has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, with a Google Scholar h-index of 50 and more than 17,000 citations. He has secured over £22 million in research funding and serves as Chief Investigator on multiple national and international clinical trials.
